AB - PH 5, altes Board von welchem Hersteller ?

J.Stepput / 3 Antworten / Flachansicht Nickles

CPU All Intel Classic Pentiums
PCI IDE Two IDE Channels i.e. 4 Drives
I/O Ports EPP and ECP Capable Two high speed serial ports with 16 bytes
FIFOs
L2 Cache Takes Standard/Burst/Pipeline up to 256kb ,unsure about 512Kb
modules
Memory Up to 32Mb EDO or FPP Modules i.e 128Mb in total
Slots Four PCI and 3 ISA
Other Takes ps/2 mouse and pci ide bus mastering is supported
Special Features in Detail
Bus Speeds(MHz): Offical 50,60,66 Also found: 75,80(?)
Bus Master IDE: The enhanced IDE Controller on the m/b has two more
dedicated DMA channels for bus master IDE and 32 bytes of PCI-IDE buffer.
Mode 4 IDE up to 15 Mb/s, DMA Mode 2 up to 22 Mb/s. I failed miserably
trying to get some bus mastering drivers to function properly. Probably okay
in win95b (back up data first!!).
VRM (Voltage Regulator Module): From the manual: When the CPU socket is
populated with P55C (a type of processor), a 2.5V OEM or third party vendor
VRM is installed in the VRM socket to supply 2.5V tp the CPU core Vcc pins.
Whne upgraded with P55T , the original P55C VRM is replaced by an end-user
installed VRM (that is shipped with the processor) to supply the proper
voltage and current to the P55CT core. The 3.3V supply require for CPU I/O
is not provided by the VRM in the case of P55C or P55T. The VRM only
supplies 2.5V to the core Vcc pins. The P55C VRM and P55CT VRM however will
have provision to allow 3.3V form the power supply to pass through to the
CPU I/O voltage island (or m/b regulator to pass through to the CPU I/O
voltage island).

I apologise to Abit for reproducing parts of Abit's PH5 manual here.

Note: The jumper labelled jp27 on the actual board is in fact jp29 (voltage

Fraction/Ratio meams that for a Pentium 133 you should have bus speed of 66
using a 1/2 fraction (i.e 2 times clock multiplier).So (CPU Speed) times
(fraction)=bus speed. Also note that there are undocumented settings such as
a 75 and a 80(??) MHz bus speed. Get a program such as ctcm_int which tells
you what clock frequency your CPU is running at. By using this with combos
of known(as above) and unknown(i.e jump
