Acer 7520 , wireless card, lan card, sound.
I can confirm your problems , I have exactly the same. But also the sound card doesn't work.
I've spend almost 2 weeks in searching the internet and I've tried every combination of madwifi , ndiswrapper and drivers revisions.
My wireless card is working now with the ndiswrapper based on de xp32/64 drivers ( they are the same in my opinion) which
you find at www.atheros.cz for the AR5007EG ( there is confusion on which card is in the unit. Vista/Linux give different items).
BUT after power up you need to press thw wlan switch off the keyboard , timing : just after passing grub . I.m stll searching for a consequent
behaviour of
The lan card has a strange behaviour , I've solved it , as a work around, by adding a script in /etc/sysconfig/network/ifdown.d
1. edit /etc/udev/rules/70-persistent-net.rules : remove all high ethx numbers and remain only eth0.
2. copy this file in the same directory to i.e. :70-persistent-net.rules.reset
3. make a script in /etc/sysconfig/network/scripts i.e. : ethx with the following content :
cp /etc/udev/rules/70-persistent-net.rules.reset /etc/udev/rules/70-persistent-net.rules
4. make in /etc/sysconfig/network/ifdown.d a link i.e. :
ln -s /etc/sysconfig/network/scripts/ethx 22-ethx
Based on the date of the message , I'm afraid i'm to late and possibly you have the ACER 7520 thrown out of the window.
unfortunately I can't afford that. But let us hope that governments are avoiding to buy items form ACER.
Also sound doesn't work. I'm searching for it now.
